My tour to the Scotland -Highlands
had been thinking of posting about my scotland trip..so finally doing it today..
Had been thinking of this trip for some time and then finally made it..and since i did not plan it in advance here is how i did it in the end..
Was thinking of taking a tour option from london earlier but that required a advance planning and booking...and more ever i guess i did not preferred that option..
So instead of going on the long weekend i planned over that long weekend for the next weekend..and also planned to take couple of days off..
I checked the options for train/flight and bus..would have loved to go by train but the timing and price did not suite what i wanted..
eventually i booked a bus ticket from london-heathrow to Edinburgh on a Thursday night..and a return ticket by flight from Edinburgh to london-heathrow for monday night..
40 pounds for the bus ticket and 34 pounds for the flight! so you see my flight turned out to be cheaper than a bus ticket!
I reached edinburg the next day morning ( Friday) and header for Royal mile..thats where you can get hostels/hotels to stay in edinburgh...I had pre booked a hostel for one night in Edinburgh as I planned to take a 3 day tour originating from edinburgh and to the highlands..
dumping my luggage i hopped in and hopped off the bus to move around edinburgh..thats how i spent my friday...and a walk around the city in the evening eventually brought the day to an end...
The next day i was taking a tour through Haggis adventures..it was a 3 day tour to the highlands and returning back on monday evening..
the tour priced at 111 pounds and an additional 47 pounds for 2 nights stay and dinner+breakfast..
It was good trip inspite of the rains playing a bit of spoil sport on reaching isle of skye..
Eventually after a 3 day tour i reached back edinburgh around 6 in the evening on monday...and then took the city link bus to airport..and then to london..
The drive down the highlands are amazing..with some breathtaking views..
