Now this has been a test of patience for sure..who says the passport process is now streamlined and fairly simple?
If you hear this you will not agree
At first getting an appointment is an nightmare and after a month long struggle I managed to get one.
On visiting the passport office there was another surprise in store
I was asked to get supporting documents for address proof and before leaving I was suppose to meet the apo for some signatures
This took an hour and with issues of que and people jumping over
Second visit was expected to be fairly less time consuming given that I had all the necessary docs in place
However it took 4 hours in total since I entered and came out
Another half day gone!
This time I was assured of getting my passport in 3 days!
As I waited for it and checked for the status there was another surprise in store
I was asked to visit the regional office this time and without mention of the reason.
Not even an email alert or a SMS about this!
The next visit was to the regional passport office ..with just 2 hours window slot!
As I reach the office I see a huge que even before people are allowed to get inside..
After standing in the que for half an hour I finally got to go inside..which had another long que..
All this for just an enquiry?
Now the worst part.. The que was fairly stagnant and hardly moved!
Here came the announcement that the servers are down hence there was nothing they could do!
I also had a meeting scheduled in the afternoon and could not be there while day waiting!
Having no choice but to leave...yes disgusted off course !
Btw the ac's were not working as well while I stood there wasting my time!
Now who says we have progressed?
